Our Story

Her Story

I met my future husband Ian for the second time at my

co-worker Erica’s social gathering at her home and although I had a feeling she was setting me up to meet him, I was still nervous nonetheless.  Ian approached me and started talking with me and we had a really enjoyable time.  I could tell we had a lot common.  Shortly afterwards, Erica invited me to another event that Ian “coincidently” was invited to as well.  Everyone there knew that I really liked Caramel Flan and Ian actually went out of his way before getting to Erica’s event to bring me some.  He had a lot of trouble though and ended up going to several places before actually finding it. I thought to myself how sweet it was of him to try and make that happen and I thought it was one of the sweetest things a person could do for someone.  Ian asked me for my number later that night but I didn’t give it to him because I had just gotten out of a previous relationship with someone else and felt it was too soon.  He understood but I figured it shouldn’t be that easy to get my number anyway!  Several days had gone by and I thought to myself how sweet Ian was to me overall and, honestly, not a lot of men out there are as nice or sincere as him so I decided to go against what I initially told myself and I gave Ian my number.  We went out and it was just like that initially meeting at Erica’s home.  We talked for hours about everything and nothing and it just felt right.  We had a lot of similar interests i.e. Movies, Family, Food, Friends...except for comic books!  As time went by, I felt my future with Ian come closer into focus and since then we have spent most every waking moment with each other.  In fact, I can’t see myself without him so I guess even from that very first moment I know he was the One.

I love Ian more and more each day. He is my rock and my future. Words can't explain the gift and love he given me. I can't wait to spend the rest my life with him.

His Story

I often hear people say that the harder you look, the less you'll find. So it stands to reason that if you just go with the flow, you might be surprised with might come your way. This was so true when I first saw my future wife after simply coming to have lunch with my sister Erica one day while she was working. I saw Carol from across the room as was struck immediately. Of course, I asked my sister who she was and it was from that point that I was very curious to know more about her. A little time went by and soon after, Carol joined Erica and myself along with a few of their coworkers for lunch. I was pretty nervous so let's just say that eating a full meal wasn't a reality for a bit. Carol didn't seem to notice, but that would change after we got to know each other a bit better and we talked about how nervous we both were at times. Things would progress further when I saw Carol outside of her work environment. I had heard that Carol really liked Flan and I made it a point to track some down before heading to a gathering that Erica was having at her house. I had a lot of trouble finding a slice but, thankfully, the stars were aligned one night and I was able see Carol smile at the sight of that delicious dessert treat. Although I wasn't able to get Carol's number officially that night, officially being shot down after a nervous attempt, I had hoped that we'd be able to go out at some point in the future.

A couple of days later, however, the stars aligned once again and Carol did give me her number. We went out on our first date and from that moment on, it was clear to me that we had so much more in common than ever. It wasn't by chance that this woman took my breath away and it wasn't just because of her sheer beauty. Talking for hours and hours, it was clear that this was someone I was falling more and more in love with. It's an amazing thing when you feel that cosmic connection where things just feel right and with Carol, it never felt more right, more alive than ever. They say there's a thing called Love at First Sight and I believe it's true...as long as you don't look hard enough. Things have a funny way of materializing when you least expect it. Carol materialized for me that one day and my Universe hasn't been the same since and you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way... ;-)
