Carol & Ian's Glamorous Winter Wedding...

On one rainy afternoon, a couple in love decided to take on the world together and get married on 1/10/15. I would like to share with you how our wedding day didn’t quite turn out as we had planned but was as perfect as it could be. Every bride's worst nightmare is to find out that it could possibly rain on that one special day. With an outdoor wedding planned well in advance, the concern of it possibly raining was always there in the background given the time of the year we were to scheduled to walk down that aisle together. An old Spanish theater was converted into a breathtaking wedding venue that overlooked the beautiful City of Claremont high up against the Foothills. With the sky looking increasingly more threatening that day, the rain finally began to fall around 3:30pm and we had to move everything inside. In a matter of minutes, our floral designer and coordinator transformed the indoor theater ballroom into a magical settings that matched our original outdoor decor. It was just amazing. The rain did not ultimately stress us out but instead, we saw it as a positive in how beautiful and elegant our day turned out for us. Not only did we stay positive and upbeat, we realized the ultimate focus of the day was that we were getting married. Nothing would change that. The key to a fun weddingday is to laugh, have fun, understand that things happen that are beyond our control, to be in the moment and to love the moment with each other. That is exactly what we did. This idea is what strengthened the overall theme of our event - “You Will Forever Hold The Key To My Heart”.

I was so in love with your floral arrangements and bouquets that completely filled the ballroom and helped make our event the magical day that it was. It was full of berry pink hydrangea, garden roses, roses, and my favorite peonies. We didn't have much of budget to purchase all the little details i.e. menus, programs, and favors for the guests so it very much became a DIY project where we had to create all of that on our own. We took vellum paper and embossed each and every program and menu with our customized logo and we maintained that look and consistency with vintage key bottle openers that were paired with heart shaped jars filled with Ghirardelli Hot Chocolate Powder and Marshmallows. Each jar had its own tag created by us and embossed with our logo as well. The Key signified Love, Communication, Respect, and Happiness which, ultimately, are the keys to a successful and happy marriage.

We had one amazing photographer that captured each and every moment from the Bride and Bridesmaids getting ready to the details, both big and small, of the wedding itself. Not only did she take great pictures, she was able to photograph the very essence of our day in great detail.

Our Wedding day was perfect as it was on an unexpected rainy day.

There's an old saying that says Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last. From this day forward we will always be reminded that our lives would never be the same without the abundance of love this person has for you.
