Top 10 Fun Things to Entertain your Guests During the Cocktail Hour

Do you ever get bored during the cocktail hour and wonder what time the reception starts? Conversing with old friends can get pretty dull after a few minutes. As you may or may not know, our attention span usually runs out after about 10 min or so. With that in mind, I have gathered together some fun and exciting ways to keep busy during the cocktail hour as you wait for the reception to begin. They're designed to keep guests entertained while you and your wedding party are off taking pictures.

1. Board Games

Nobody can honestly say that they don’t like games! Why not have a few board games strategically placed around the tables and have little signs displayed encouraging guests to play them!

2. Comedian

Nothing connects friends and family like laughing together. Your wedding guests will be in a good mood for the joyous occasion and many or most know each other, making for a hilarious shared experience. Put the Laugh in "Live, Laugh, Love"

3. Casino

For the guests who enjoys gambling with money, having black jack, roulette, or craps tables during the cocktail can be absolutely fun!!! The Brides and Groom can use the funds allocate from their winning can go toward their honeymoon funds. This is an alternative to the money dance.

4. Out Door Game

If you have access to an outdoor area, or are getting married outdoors, having lawn games such as bocce ball, croquet, or corn hole can brings out your inner child in all of us!! It is always a big hit with guests! Also, if you’ve got kids joining you at your reception this will keep them busy! It will make the night a lot quieter for everyone, and their parents are sure to appreciate it!

A standard show would be a dance performance for 10-15 min., depending on the schedule.
